Biking in Hawaii

Ride Waimanalo Includes five high-quality printed note cards of classic Windward Oahu views. Note card size is 4.25″ x 5.5″, envelopes included.

The ride into Waimanalo begins at the Mokapu`u Lookout with a breathtaking view of the beach, miles of sparkling ocean and Rabbit Island.  The road winds along the ocean all the way to Keneke’s, recognized best by its red and white checkerboard building.  Turning off the main road takes you through quiet residential country-style neighborhoods and nurseries nestled in the expansive valleys of the Koolau range.  The air is cooler and filled with the fragrance of flowers and the songs of native birds.  Inspiration for my painting “African Tulip Tree” and “Waimanalo Woodrose” came during this leg of one ride. A few miles later and a few turns you are back on the main highway and heading past Olomana Golf Course and up the hill to Kailua town.
